Parent Coaching
Parenting can be challenging, and it can be especially difficult to navigate how best to support a neurodivergent child. I offer personalized guidance by listening closely to your unique struggles and providing tailored strategies to better support your child’s needs. By understanding their specific challenges and implementing evidence-based approaches, you’ll not only enhance your relationship with your child but also foster a more harmonious and cohesive home environment for the entire family.
Hourly Session
Weekly parent training sessions designed to address your specific needs, with a focus on refining and adapting strategies to ensure your parenting success.
School Observation/Collaboration
While our New York teachers are highly skilled, they may not always have specialized training in supporting neurodivergent students. In these cases, I conduct classroom observations and develop individualized approaches to help educators better support your child’s success in the learning environment.
Classroom Observation
A two-hour observation of your child across different classes and school environments to identify the factors contributing to current behaviors or academic challenges. I will also collaborate with key staff members, including teachers and guidance counselors, to review any strategies already attempted and explore potential solutions. Together, we will discuss the feasibility of these ideas and how they can be effectively implemented within the classroom setting.
Program Maintenance
Weekly or monthly meetings with school staff and parents to ensure ongoing continuity and necessary adjustments to the programs implemented following the school observation. These collaborative sessions help track progress and make any modifications needed for sustained success.
Home Observation
When parent coaching alone isn’t sufficient—often in the case of complex family dynamics—I offer in-home observations to assess the specific challenges your family is facing. I work directly with all members involved to develop a tailored behavior plan, helping everyone understand the root causes of the issue. Together, we’ll reframe responses and implement strategies to reduce tension and resolve the situation in a more constructive, supportive way.
